We are seeking a Team Lead Software Development to guide and grow our software development team. This position combines both technical and organisational leadership, with a strong focus on medical device software involving image processing and real-time systems.
The role will include hands-on development in C++20 and CUDA, contributing to advanced features such as laser guidance and feature tracking, while also coordinating collaboration across internal teams and external development partners. Your expertise will help ensure the delivery of robust, high-performance applications that meet medical device standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support the software development team
- Plan and prioritise development activities across internal and external contributors
- Contribute directly to coding tasks, particularly in C++20/CUDA and image processing
- Support architectural decisions and conduct code reviews
- Coordinate cross-functional work with QA, regulatory, and systems engineering, as well as external partners
- Ensure software development aligns with medical device standards and product requirements
- Support sprint planning, technical documentation, and delivery milestones
Your background and skills
- 5+ years in software engineering (ideally C++, Linux, and Python)
- 2+ years of experience leading software teams or technical projects
- Experience working in regulated development (e.g. ISO 62304, MDR, FDA)
- Practical experience with CUDA and real-time image processing
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to combine hands-on development with strategic leadership
Desirable
- Experience with medical device software or embedded systems
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, or software deployment on Linux (e.g. Jetson, Docker)
- Experience collaborating with external development partners or remote teams
