Tender Lead

We are hiring for a Tender Lead to be based in Dubai.


Our client is a global specialized and branded multinational pharmaceutical firm with a presence in both emerging and mature countries and has a more than 150-year history. They employ more than 9000 people in 70 established offices in over 50 countries, and their high-quality, low-cost medicines benefit the health of patients in over 150 nations. Through their core business sectors, they focus on marketing and manufacturing a diverse range of post-patent, branded pharmaceuticals, and domestic brands for both hospital and consumer markets. Manufacturing and Commercial Pharmaceuticals, which include Regional Brands and Sterile Focus Brands, are their primary business segments.


You will oversee Europe & Middle East. This position reports to the Head of Commercial Finance & Operations - Europe & Middle East.


Role Purpose:


The primary objective of this role is to oversee the tender process, playing a pivotal role in securing new business opportunities, optimizing tender strategies, and ensuring compliance with established protocols.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage tender tools, including implementing an authority matrix, collaborating with consultants for system upgrades, and developing tender analytics dashboards.
  • Monitor and report on tender successes and losses as part of regional performance assessments.
  • Establish a proactive tender planning and prioritization system across various regions and contribute to the annual planning process.
  • Explore strategies for emphasizing non-price criteria in tender assessments and collaborate with local operating companies (LOCs) to integrate these factors into future frameworks.
  • Facilitate the exchange of best practices among different markets.
  • Coordinate the Tender Champions Network, including organizing bi-monthly update meetings.
  • Ensure stakeholders adhere to the tender process and take responsibility for enhancing it.
  • Analyse market dynamics, engage with internal and external thought leaders to identify unaddressed requirements in tender processes and convert insights into tender strategies to achieve cluster/country objectives in the short and long term.
  • Engage in ad hoc tasks related to the Tender function as required.


This role is crucial in driving effective tender management, fostering collaboration, and ensuring strategic alignment with business goals.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with tenders within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Able to travel to Europe.
  • Strong leadership skills, need to know how to take ownership and discuss with senior KOLs.
  • Good communicator & growth mindset.
  • Must be based in Dubai with local experience.
