Senior/Principal Scientist - Yeast to Hybrid

We are currently seeking a Senior/Principal Scientist with expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, synthetic biology, or equivalent, to join our client, a leading biotech company based in Vienna, Austria. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing scalable in vitro mapping of weak protein-protein interactions and directing molecular glue discovery programs. The focus will be on tech development and optimisation tailored to the company's specific needs, eventually integrating into their discovery engine.

As the Senior/Principal Scientist, the selected candidate will leverage their expertise and experience, to develop and optimise various methods for protein-protein interaction mapping. The Senior/Principal Scientist will drive the advancement of discovery programs and contribute to the company's overarching research objectives.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the establishment of scalable in vitro mapping techniques for weak protein-protein interactions.
  • Direct the development and optimisation of technologies tailored to the company's needs, to integrate them into the discovery engine.
  • Drive molecular glue discovery programs using innovative methods and approaches.


Qualifications:


  • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, synthetic biology, or related field.
  • 3-6+ years of post-PhD experience in academia or industry.
  • Proficiency in a variety of protein-protein interaction mapping techniques, such as (mammalian) yeast-2-hybrid, phage display, protein arrays, deep mutational scanning, and protein complementation.
  • Strong track record of successful tech development and optimisation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
