Aspire Life Sciences supported a neurotechnology company with its search for a Quality Engineer as it developed a brain-computer interface (BCI) platform. The company’s first clinical application focused on restoring communication for people affected by conditions such as ALS, spinal cord injury and stroke.
The role centred on quality oversight for medical device software across product development and manufacturing. It involved advising engineering teams on design and process controls, reviewing quality documentation, supporting software testing and carrying out product and process risk assessments. The Quality Engineer would also help improve the company’s quality management system as development progressed.
The search called for experience in medical device development, including work with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) or software in a medical device (SiMD). Familiarity with active implantable devices or electromechanical manufacturing was also relevant to the brief.
