Product Manager (Pharmaceutical Sector)

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Product Manager that exists within our Client’s Marketing Department.

Our client is a leading global herbal health and personal care organization with branches across South Africa and internationally.

The position will be reporting directly to the Marketing Lead – RSA and the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and taking charge of marketing activities, as well as providing promotional thrust by developing and executing strategic promotions on assigned brands.

Other Critical role members will include Product Managers RUMEA, Key Account Managers and Product Specialist / Representatives

Requirements:

  • Matric qualification.
  • Digital Marketing Degree preferred, or related tertiary qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 – 5 years of proven pharmaceutical core marketing experience working with a reputed pharmaceutical company. Exposure to MEA will be an added advantage
  • Mandatory experience in Digital and Social Media Marketing
  • Experience in Field force training, product launches and Market research
  • Mandatory experience managing OTC/Supplement brands
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Fluency in English language
  • Demonstrated Product Management experience
  • Market Research experience

  • Experience in preparation and delivery of product/in-clinic training

Key results areas for the role:

  • Achieve Business Financials Rev/IMS/PAT for Pharma
  • Achieve the IMS sales of assigned Key Brands
  • Achieve the IMS sales for key markets assigned
  • Various Marketing campaigns – plan, execution and impact

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Brand Plan which defines brand positioning, brand communication, sales and promotional objectives, promotional strategies, and tactics. Build effective strategies for assigned brands/geographies. Responsible for delivery on Revenue & marketing budgets. Gain positive accelerated impact on brand health parameters like Awareness, Top of mind Recall and Off takes within the set-objective metrics
  • Providing the Field Force periodically with the promotional collaterals, product presentations and necessary training on products and in-clinic conduct. To ensure effective implementation of the product plans and achieve the desired business results
  • Close liaison with the field force to assess the response to promotional meetings and materials.
  • Analyse, evaluate and report the market conditions for existing and potential markets and make recommendations to the senior management. To support sustain/grow business in the current markets and expansion to new potential markets
  • Support the Sales team in making business presentations to different Hospital and Pharmacy groups.
