Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company, is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Area Manager for the HIV sector, focusing on the EMEA region. This role requires significant travel to various African countries, including Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and French-speaking Western African nations.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development:
- Develop and adapt the HIV therapeutic area strategy and positioning.
- Build and implement brand plans, ensuring alignment with local strategies.
- Collaborate with Regional Marketing Managers to transform portfolio strategies into commercial success.
Market and Portfolio Management:
- Enhance product positioning and integrate it into marketing tools.
- Work with sales, medical affairs, market access, customer service, finance, logistics, and marketing teams.
- Partner with internal and external agencies to develop marketing communication assets.
Product and Business Development:
- Build business cases considering full P&L metrics.
- Partner with training teams to develop and monitor training content and sales skills.
- Change HIV testing paradigms and activate funding streams.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Continuously monitor market trends and competition.
- Conduct market analyses and transform insights into strategic actions.
- Propose actions to maximize portfolio impact and create business opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Manage third-party vendors and build business relationships.
- Develop pricing strategies and customer-centric value propositions.
- Engage with key stakeholders and clinical experts to drive business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Biological Science, or related field. A higher degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of industry experience, with at least 7+ years in HIV diagnostics marketing.
- Familiarity with the infectious diseases diagnostic landscape, molecular and lateral flow test technology preferred.
- Significant experience in African countries outside South Africa is essential.
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time into Africa.
