Senior Research Scientist | Computer vision and medical imaging | Munich

Aspire Life Sciences supported a Munich-based R&D consultancy with its search for a Senior Research Scientist in computer vision and medical imaging. The company worked with medical device businesses and academic research teams to develop imaging technologies for robotic and conventional surgery.

The role focused on applied research in 3D computer vision, deep learning and endoscopic imaging. Projects included 3D reconstruction, monocular depth estimation, tissue tracking and segmentation, and 6D pose estimation. The scientist would also help turn research into medical products, share technical knowledge with clients and colleagues, publish papers and mentor students.

The search called for strong Python skills and the ability to lead applied research independently, backed by a relevant PhD or substantial research experience. Experience in medical imaging, C++ or deploying models to edge devices was also valuable to the brief.
