Aspire Life Sciences partnered with a Norwegian MedTech company developing advanced neurosurgical solutions. The organisation specialised in software that processed medical imaging scans to deliver the visualisations neurosurgeons relied on during complex procedures, including brain tumour surgeries.

The Assignment

We successfully supported the search for a DevOps Engineer who joined the company’s technical team, taking responsibility for the scalability, reliability, and security of its medical imaging platform. The successful candidate played a key role in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, enabling fast and secure software delivery to both cloud and on-premise customers.

This was a strategic hire, bridging development and operations while building a robust and automated infrastructure foundation to support the company’s continued international growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designed, implemented, and maintained cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, including Terraform and CloudFormation, across multiple software solutions: nordicMEDiVA, nordicAktiva, and nordicComfortPlayer.
  • Built and managed CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments, ensuring reliable version control and deployment strategies.
  • Monitored system health, performance, capacity, and cost-efficiency, maintaining optimal operation across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Implemented security best practices and contributed to compliance initiatives covering SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR requirements.
  • Collaborated closely with development and operations teams to establish efficient infrastructure management and deployment processes.
  • Acted as a technical expert, supporting developers with infrastructure, cloud, and deployment-related challenges.
