Senior/Principal Scientist - DMPK

The Head of DMPK is currently looking for talented Senior/Principal Scientists to join the team and support its development program. This position offers an opportunity to work with a driven team within a company that is experiencing fast growth. You will be responsible for developing and executing experiments to support drug development efforts in vitro and contribute to the design and execution of in vivo experiments.

The successful candidate will have experience with designing and executing studies using cell-based assays and bioanalytical techniques. A strong background in biochemistry is preferred, as well as experience working with small molecule drugs.

Responsibilities:

  • The purpose of in vitro DMPK studies is to understand the metabolism, distribution, and excretion (ADME) of drugs. This can be accomplished through the use of liver cells (hepatocytes), plasma protein binding assays, Caco-2 permeability assays and Cytochrome P450 inhibition/induction assays.
  • Performing quality control analysis on data generated from third-party contract research organizations (CROs) or internal teams
  • Contribute to the development of new assays, methods, and models within the department through collaboration with other scientists, including cell line development, bioanalytical methods and assay development.

Requirements:

  • A BSc., MSc. and/or PhD. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biology with 4+ years of laboratory-based experience performing in vitro DMPK assays is required.
  • Experience with quantitative liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) techniques and basic troubleshooting of LC-MS/MS problems.
  • Awareness and understanding of the critical role of ADME in research projects.
